So, here I am, a newbie to this blogging world. I am in all words a fashionista, but I have a problem. I am a size 14/16 (depending on who you ask even an 18 or 20!) who desires and demands the high fashion that is permitted to my lovely straight sized sisters. My problem is that there are amazing limitations and options for me to enable my fashion habit. I have scoured through all the leading fashion portals (the mainstream) and have found but a few with the same passion and angst, although I know I am not the only one who loves to pick up a Glamour, Vogue, or Marie Claire- only to be frustrated about the options delegated to my curvy frame. I do not want to be left to browsing the accessories- since I know those will fit- lol.
No- I do not want to wear a Muumuu. No- I do not want to sacrifice amazing quality and style. No- I will not be ashamed of my curves.
I LOVE MY CURVES! I have had them forever. I have always been a thick soul sister, I have been a cheerleader (my size 12 days in college), I have worked for many retailers for the last ten years, and have always had to adapt my style to the options afforded to me.Then it dawned on me to search the web for other plus size women who are Curvy.Confident.Chic. like me. As I have found them, I noticed that we all talk about what we want and now I have decided to lead my own escavation to find the best of the best high end plus size fashion designers who have ME in mind when designing.
What I have done is create a blog: http://thecurvyfashionista-mariedenee.blogspot.com/ which highlights and spotlights established, new, and hard to find designers and thier clothing lines, in addition to the amazing curvy ambassadors who share the same frustrations, desires, and passions! If you share the same concerns, thoughts, and feelings, leave me a message here or visit me at my blog!
