Where Plus Size is the New Normal
Cause for Celebration
Just to prove that inspiration to celebrate can come from the strangest places... I"m celebrating having my name fall onto Page 3 of the Members list at The Perfect Social Club. Why is this such a big thing?
Well, I remember when we first started, when there were two members on that list - mine and Kate's. She encouraged me; I encouraged her - we shored each other up and cheered each other on... a social club of two good friends. If I recall, at the time, the artwork for the site was pretty bland, then moved to pretty bold, with a few dips into the pretty ugly category. Bless her heart, she kept cheering.
Slowly the place has grown, each member a precious pearl in a necklace of wonderful people. To be on page 3 is a joy - someday I hope to be on page 4, then 5, then 30 perhaps. But when that happens, and I sense that it will, I will always remember those first few weeks when she and I occupied page 1 - cheering each other on.
